About Me
Dr. Ismaël Maatouk is a dermatologist who graduated from Université Saint Joseph of Beirut, Lebanon,
and completed a fellowship in sexually transmitted infections (STIs) at Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris. He
is also an epidemiologist, focusing his research on STIs, HIV, and key populations affected by these
conditions, with over a decade of experience in clinical and behavioral research involving sexual
minorities in Lebanon.
He has worked at Clemenceau Medical Center, affiliated with Johns Hopkins in Beirut, and has been
actively involved in public health initiatives. His contributions included implementing PrEP programs,
HIV self-testing, and STI services in sentinel clinics across Lebanon, along with various other
programmatic tasks.
In 2022, Dr. Maatouk relocated from Lebanon. He earned a PhD in Sexual Health and Social Psychology
in 2024.
The clinic in Hamra-Beirut (2013-2022) is closed now.
